GREYSPIRE HOUSE

The design aimed to create a harmonious fusion of the old and the new, with a careful juxtaposition that complements and enhances the existing architecture. The extension’s form and materiality were thoughtfully chosen to accentuate the character of the original structure, incorporating complementary colors and textures that unify the overall design.

Externally, we have selected a light grey limestone to complement the tones and color palette of the existing house. Internally, timber and thatch have been incorporated into the ceiling design to introduce warmth, balancing the otherwise cool materials of the extension, which are further enhanced by the polished concrete floors. Large floor-to-ceiling windows have been strategically placed to maximize natural light, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere while framing the expansive views of the surrounding landscape. This thoughtful integration of the interior and exterior spaces fosters a seamless connection with nature.
